Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure also known as skin needling and CIT (Collagen induction therapy). Small sterile needles puncture the skin at a variable and safe depths. The depth varies depending on the desired results. For your comfort anaesthetic is applied when a deeper depth is needed as in treating deep scars and deep wrinkles. Microneedling has stood the test of time in the aesthetics arena and has been around for many years making it a popular choice for skin rejuvenation. It is a popular cost effective treatment when compared to the price of laser treatments. The tiny needles are designed to create a controlled injury by puncturing the skin first to allow a deeper absorption of the ampoules (choice of vitamins, hyaluronic, and peptides), and second to trigger a healing response. It is this healing response that creates the rejuvenation by increasing the production of growth factors that in turn increases the production of collagen and elastin. Clients who have this as a monthly treatment can also add a peel at the same time for enhanced rejuvenation. Your skin will need to regenerate to a satisfactory level before you are able to combine this treatment at the same time as having a peel and I will advise you as we go along. A course is recommended and the frequency will depend on your desired results. This will be discussed during your consultation. You must book a consultation prior to having a microneedling treatment. If you are booking medical microneedling session make sure that you add the option of anaesthetic to your cart.
